All of those homes look great and would seem to be perfect for a great starter home or a single person so live modestly but the thing I've found if that while the mortgage is very reasonable the lot rent is outrageous. I've seen lot rents as high as $1,500- $2,000 per month in addition to the rent, utilities and other expenses so buy the time you've added everything up and done a price comparison and a cost analyst your honestly better off buying a traditional home vs a manufactured home. I've lived in mobile homes in other areas before moving here and I have never, ever seen the lot rents at such a price. I know that land is at a premium around here but having a 4 or 500 dollar mortgage is great until your hi8t with a 2K lot rent bill every month which doesn't include sewer/water/trash etc it's just to park the trailer there. I've seen too many gorgeous manufactured homes that I would love to live in priced out of consideration over the over inflated lot rents. Thank goodness I have a decent basement apartment and a great landlady but I'm still on the look out to own vs rent.

Our first home looked very similar to #6. It didn't amount to much, but it was our first home that we owned as a married couple. We sold it four years later for the same price we paid for it, and had enough down payment for a regular frame home. There is nothing wrong with buying and living in a mobile home, but do have a plan if tornadoes come around.
